Santi Lawrachawee (*1971) started his career as graphic design by working with several design companies and later co-founded the communication design studio »Practical Design Studio«.In the mean time, he has also been teaching at Chulalongkorn University, Rangsit University,Bangkok University and many organisations. Working with the Education Institute made him realise that‘designer roles are no longer limited by commercial value and can expand to create various design projects and activities within society’. Santi is also very active in the arts and design community in Thailand. His works lie in various positions such as design director of visual identity design for Thai Health Promotion Foundation and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). He also was design director for »Show Me Thai« exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo. He was a design consultant of Royal Institute Thai Dictionary 2011. He and Practical Design Studio are invited to design the cover of »typographics ti; type trip to Bangkok« the magazine by Japan Typography Association, and recently he was invited to be 1 of speakers for Bangkok International Symposium 2013. In 2009, he and Practical Design Studio initiated the project collaborated with Thai Graphic Designer Association (ThaiGa) »I am a Thai graphic designer exhibition» which presented 1,146 works from Thai graphic designers. In 2010, He curated the paper design exhibitions »Paper Matter« at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and co-organized »heART to Heart« exhibition which presented 19 works from Thai and international graphic designers under theme »HOPE«&»LOVE« on construction hoarding in front of CentralWorld building, Rajprasong Junction. He and Practical also initiated the graphic design forum »Somewhere Thai« that included 50 speakers to represent »Thainess« in design work. And in 2011, he was co-curator for »Let's Panic« exhibition at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC).
